William C. Johnson

William C. Johnson, age 77, of Speedwell, TN was born April 9, 1944 and passed away peacefully Friday, May 28, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. He was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the U.S. Army. William loved golfing, fishing, and traveling. After retirement, he started working for FedEx where he become very close friends with the other employees.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Julian Paris and Mossie (Houston) Johnson, brother; Julian Johnson, sister; Elia Mae “Gebbia” Moye.

He is survived by his loving wife; Brenda (Walker) Johnson, children; Sherry L. Smith and husband Mark, William Kenneth “Kenny” Johnson, grandchildren; Mary Johnson, Matthew Johnson and Sydni Johnson, brother; Simeon “Sim” Johnson, sisters; Margie Rasmussen and husband Randy, Joyce Humphrey and husband Jess, Dee Francis and Husband Glenn, sister-in-law; Nancy Johnson, special friends; FedEx co-workers. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.  

Family and friends will gather from 3PM until 5PM Friday, June 4, 2021 for a Celebration of Life Service at 5PM at Haynes Flat Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Patty officiating. Music will be provided by Sherry Smith and Jess Humphrey.
