Shelby Eugene Carter

Mr. Shelby Eugene Carter, age 69 of Sneedville, TN was born September 5, 1951 and passed away October 27, 2020.  Shelby loved to read his Bible, play the guitar and teach others how to play.

He was preceded in death by his parents; William Eugene “Gene” and Anna Lee (Johnson) Carter, brother; Arthur Carter, sisters; Elizabeth Holt and Barbara Pisani.

He is survived by his children; Claude Eugene Carter and Rosa, Shelby Thomas Carter and wife Melinda, Bettilou Brent, Billy Carter and Jimmy Carter, sister; Mary Taylor and husband Robert, grandchildren;  Cassandra Carter, Catherine Easter, Ashley Carter. He is also survived by several other grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 11AM until 1PM with funeral services to follow at 1PM in the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with Gary Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Willis Cemetery in Sneedville with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel is honored to be serving the Carter Family.
