Ray Gulley, age 81, of Harrogate, TN was born April 25, 1941 and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. He was saved at a young age at Poplar Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Harrogate, TN. Ray was a member of Butcher’s Gap Missionary Baptist Church in Ewing Virginia. Ray married his loving wife Maggie (Brown) Gulley on December 14, 1962. The two were each other’s lifelong companion and friend. He was reunited with Maggie on their 60th wedding anniversary in Heaven where he longed to be.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Oscar and Addie Gulley, loving wife of 60 years; Maggie Gulley, brothers; Cletis and Lee, sisters; Ilo and Hazel.
He is survived by daughters; Kathleen Bays of Harrogate, TN, Amy (Owen) Upton of New Tazewell, TN, Tammy (Larry) Berry of Speedwell, TN, grandchildren; Christopher (Melanie) Gilbert, Lindsey Upton, Brandi (Dylan) Swann, Mandi (Garth) Duncan, Chelsey Bays and Emily Berry. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 16, 2022 from 5PM until 7PM with funeral services to follow at 7PM in the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with K.J. Zumbrum and Kevin Turner officiating. Music will be provided by Butcher’s Gap Church Singers.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 10AM in the Mountainview Cemetery.
