John Ezra Braden, 85 of Tazewell, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville. He was born in Speedwell, Tennessee on December 29, 1935, a son of the late John Dave and Mossie Williamson Braden. John was a Member of the Dogwood Heights Baptist Church in Tazewell, a member of the Masonic Lodge 180 F & AM in New Tazewell, and a Veteran of the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eleven brothers; six sisters; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Gusta Leach.
John is survived by his loving wife, Mae Leach Braden; sons, Timothy Braden and wife, Kelly of Monroe, Michigan, and Michael Braden of Tazewell, Tennessee; grandchildren, Ashley Kuhn and husband, Ryan, and Justin Braden; brother, Ira Braden and wife Edith of Sharps Chapel, Tennessee; sister, Lodia Furnas of Dayton, Ohio; sister-in-law, Edna Gordon of Shelbyville, Tennessee; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Masonic Services will be at 7:00 PM on Friday, July 9, 2021 at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel. Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the Ausmus Cemetery in Speedwell, Tennessee with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to The Ausmus Cemetery Fund in care of Earl Lambert, 159 Bolinger Road, Speedwell, Tennessee 37870.
