Jack Darvin Evans

Jackie Darvin “Shakey” Evans, age 75 of Cumberland Gap, TN was born June 17, 1948 and passed away at home on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 after a long illness. Jackie served his country abroad in Germany during the Vietnam War. He continued to wear his Army greens throughout his life. Jackie collected many items in his life but was probably most proud of his knife collection.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son; Toby Evans, his beautiful granddaughter; MaKayla Cutcher, parents; Herbert and Hallie Evans, brothers; Eugene Evans, Johnny Evans and Clarence Evans, sisters; Jewell Dean Lambdin and Louise Leach.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years; Robin Evans, daughters; Mollie Evans (Steven Mills), Ashley Evans, son; Jackie Evans, Jr. (Tanya Cornett), brothers; Bill Evans (Lela), Mike Evans (Vickey), sisters; Opal Burns (Jack), Juanita Sue Russell (Dale), grandchildren; Brooklyn Smith (Daniel Webb), Caitlyn Hampton (Austin), Morgan Evans, George Smith, Jake Smith, Tyler Evans and Logan Evans. He is also survived by a host of other loving relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 11AM until 1PM with funeral services to follow at 1PM in the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with Chaplin Garland Long officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mountainview Cemetery with full military honors.

Pallbearers: Tyler Evans, Jake Smith, George Smith, Austin Hampton, Daniel Webb and Steven Mills.
