Guy Evans Obituary

Mr.  Guy Evans, 83 of Speedwell passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020.  He was born November 19, 1936 in Speedwell a son of the late Lee and Pearl Madon Evans.

Guy was a faithful member of Red Hill Baptist Church.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, attending church and most of all his family and friends.  He was retired from Rogers Group Quarries after 30 years of service.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Carey Evans; infant son, Larry Guy Evans; five sisters and three brothers.

He is survived by his daughters, Regina and Gary Powers, Pam West and Wayne Clotfelter; son, Terry Evans; grandchildren, Nicole, Adam, Josh, Courtney and Camron; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Lowell Evans and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Funeral service will be Sunday, January 12 at 8:00 PM at the Red Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Munday, Rev. Dwayne Byrd and Rev. Ron Brown.  Music will be provided by the Red Hill Baptist Church Choir.  Burial will be Monday, January 13 at 3:00 PM in the Red Hill Cemetery, family & friends will serve as pallbearers, honorary pallbearers will be Men’s Sunday School Class at Red Hill Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Sunday, January 12 from 4:00 PM to the funeral hour at 8:00 PM at the Red Hill Baptist Church.  Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel is honored to serve the Evans Family.
