Mr. Bobby Glenn Earl, age 78, of New Tazewell, TN was born May 29, 1944 and passed away peacefully Sunday, September 25, 2022 at his home. Glenn was saved at an early age and was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated high school in 1962 then enlisted in the US Army. After returning home from the military, Glenn worked for Claiborne County Highway Department and was a lifelong farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ivy Earl; father-in law and mother-in-law, William and Catherine Gibson; infant brother, Dale Earl; Sister. Joyce Smith and husband Harold; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jack Drummonds, James Cole, John Garland, Kenneth Gibson, Edward and Reva Gibson, Charles and Junie Leach, Jim and Rachel Gibson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Amanda Jo Earl; daughter, Derita Earl; son, Elijah Earl and wife Nikki, granddaughter and light of his life, Macey Earl; sisters, Jolie Cole, Sharon Sharpe and husband Bobby; Sister-in-law Elizabeth Garland; Albert and Janice Gibson, Sam Gibson, Drane Gibson; bonus grandson, Jace Derryberry, special friends, Fred and Josephine Cupp, Keith and Charlotte Good, McKamey and Kari Derryberry, Gerald Turner, Perry and Allison Collins, and Patsy Wolfenbarger. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to caregiver Sarah Miracle, Dr. Sarah Barnard, Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice, and physical therapist Janice Gibbons for all their loving care.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 12 noon until 2PM with graveside services to follow in the Meyers Grove Cemetery with Rev. George Cole and Rev. Charlie Widner officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard.
A facial covering during the visitation is requested.
