Freddie Van Chumley II, age 52, of Harrogate, TN, went home to be with the Lord on November 10, 2022, after fighting a long-time illness. He was born November 5th, 1970, to Freddie Chumley and Sue Chumley. Freddie passed away peacefully at Tennova in Knoxville surrounded by his beloved family. Freddie Van was a member of Underwood Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he was the Youth Pastor for many years; he was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #546.
Freddie Van loved his church family with a special place in his heart for those who had been in his youth group. Freddie was an avid outdoorsman with a love for nature and a passion for hunting and fishing, a passion that he instilled in his sons Mikey and Trey. Freddie attended Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science where he got his degree in Mortuary Science; he was also a licensed electrician. Freddie Van loved sports throughout his entire life rather he was playing, coaching, or watching his favorite football team, the Tennessee Volunteers. Freddie loved his family more than anything.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Homer (Eunice) Richardson and Fred (Lanora) Chumley as well as his Aunt Betty “Lulu” Smith.
Freddie is survived by the following members of his family,loving wife Teresa Callebs Chumley. Beloved sons: Freddie Van “Trey” Chumley III, Michael, Matthew, and Jimmy (Jessica& Madelyn). Parents Sue Chumley and Freddie Chumley. His sister Christy Chumley. Nephews Brett and Mark, as well as nieces Kennedy and Karie. His Aunts: Joanne Dyer, Shirley (Billy) Wilkes, Mary Barker, and Linda Harris. His Uncle Richard Chumley, Brother-In-Law Dennis (Carol) Callebs, as well as a host of friends and family who celebrate his life and continue his legacy.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with Masonic Services at 7:00 p.m. conducted by Shawanee Masonic Lodge #546 followed by funeral services with Pastor Marvin Simmons officiating, C.A. Moore will be reading the eulogy. The singers will be Carmen Scott and Madison Chumley. The procession will meet at Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel at 10:30 a.m. and graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 17th at Harrogate Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marvin Arnett, Tommy Ables, Davy Reece, Jamie McCune, Mark Prater, J.T Davis, Jamie Lake, Tim Fultz, Rodney Wilkes, Randy Smith, Doug Thacker, Scotty Wilder, Brian Gibson and Brett Chumley.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expense.
