Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Curtis Lee Sutton (77), born December 22, 1945, won his battle against the great evil, cancer, August 8, 2023 when he went home to be with our Lord. He loved hunting, fishing and his family, who will dearly miss him. And he especially loved helping to babysit Genesis and Jonah-Kai, who were his pride and joy.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Ibby Sylvesta (Lett) Sutton, his grandparents Robert and Margaret Sutton and Calvin and Polly Ayers, sister Verily Edna Sutton, special aunt Rachel (Tence) Ayers, niece Kathy Sutton Kinningham, nephew Patrick Fleeman, and many other extended family.
Curtis is survived by his wife of almost 54 years, Ollie Sutton, his children Curtis (Tonia) Sutton II and Vickey Sutton, his grandchildren Mercades Cheyenne (Jonathan) Lorens and Curtis Andrew (Codi) Sutton, his bonus grandchildren Gabriella (Gracie) Sexton, Austin (Haley) Jones, and Landon Dunn, his great-grandchildren Genesis Chloe Roselle Lorens and Jonah-Kai Arthur Lorens, his bonus great-grandchild Owen Carter Jones. He is also survived by his brother James Sutton and sister Evelyn Sutton, sister-in-law Eula Tatman, niece Suzette (Dale) Roberts, along with numerous other nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In accordance with his wishes, Curtis will be cremated and there will be no services.
As Curtis was an animal lover leaving behind his dog BamBam and cat Sassy, in lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to honor him can make a donation in his memory to the Claiborne Animal Shelter.
