Corene Rego

Mrs. Corene Rego, age 85, of Speedwell, TN was born March 3, 1936 and passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the Tri State Health and Rehab in Harrogate. She was a member of First Christian Church in Middlesboro. Corene began her many years of nursing at the age of 18. She also worked at Smithfield for 20 years until her retirement. When she wasn’t working, Corene loved to cook and reading.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands; Marvin Byrd, Charles Idol and Chris Rego, daughter; Mary Ann Idol, grandsons; John Walker and Corey Gibson, sons-in-law; Glenn Lowe and Dewey Gibson

She is survived by her children; Brenda Bowling and husband Edward, Debbie Gibson, Billy Idol and wife Janice, Lee Byrd and wife Kim, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, sisters; Lorene Cooper, Georgia Engle and Betty Wilson. She is also survived by a host of other loving relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 21, 2022 from 5PM until 7PM with funeral services to follow at 7PM in the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with Rev. M.O. Van Bever officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted 4PM Saturday, January 22, 2022 in the Mountainview Cemetery and Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
