Ronald Renfroe Obituary

Ronald Eugene Renfroe (“Ronnie” to family and friends) of Speedwell, Tennessee, passed away on October 19, 2018. He was born on May 18, 1935 in the beach town of Clearwater, Florida. He attended Summerlin Institute (now Bartow High School) and graduated from the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind in St. Augustine, Florida, where he participated in football, track, and orchestra.  A graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel College, he enjoyed working with machines and worked for many years at Ben Hill Griffin in Bartow, Florida, and at Giles Industries in Middlesboro, Kentucky.  He was a member of Haynes Flat Church where he served as a deacon and was a fifty-year member of Powell Valley Lodge #488.  He loved spending time with his family, playing the guitar, and watching UT football.

He is preceded in death by his wife Helen Evans Renfroe, parents George William Renfroe and Annie Lou Touchton, brother William “Billy” Renfroe, father and mother-in-law Audie and Alice Evans, sister-in-law Ruth Evans, and brother-in-law Van Madden.

He is survived by his daughter Alicia Mischa Renfroe (John Hart), sister Pat Renfroe Madden (Roy Wilson), sister-in-law Dorothy “Dot” Renfroe, niece Anne Renfroe Drennan (Frank Drennan), nephews William Renfroe (Leanna) and Chip Madden (Jese), grand- nieces and nephews Delonaga Madden, Orianna Madden, Seth Renfroe, Billy Drennan, and Jimmy Drennan, and several great- grand nieces and nephews.  A graveside service will be conducted by the Powell Valley Lodge #488. Interment will be on Sunday, October 21st at 2 p.m. in the Robertson Family Cemetery.
