Jason Donnie Ray

Jason Donnie Ray age 34 of Rose Hill, Virginia passed away peacefully with his family and friends by his side on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.  He was born June 2, 1984 in Big Stone Gap, Virginia and had recently been baptized and anointed.  Jason was employed most recently at American Color Greenhouse.  He enjoyed NASCAR, football, fishing, and was an animal lover.  He was preceded in death by his father Donnie Marvin Ray, grandfather Harold Edwin Greer, grandparents Roy & Helen Ray, Uncle Curt and aunt Lula Belle Ray, uncle Benny Lee Pauley, cousin Robin Amanda Pauley, Jerry Ray & Libby Marcum. He is survived by his loving mother Lisa Greer Ray, step father Barry McConnell, step brother Benji Campbell, uncle Tony and aunt Margie Ray, aunt Linda and uncle Keith Hindsley aunt Ida Ray, grandmother Thelma Jean Crigger Greer, aunt Reda Faye Pauley and uncle Larry Dale Greer and lots of other relatives, cousins, and many very special friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 12 noon until 1PM at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel in Harrogate, Tennessee.  Graveside services will follow in the Greer Family Cemetery on the family farm in Rose Hill, Virginia with the Rev. Ronnie Sizemore officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
