James Alf Taylor age 87 of New Tazewell, TN was born August 8, 1931 and passed away September 16, 2018. He was a member and Deacon of Young’s Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents Ruthe and Isaac Taylor, he was preceded in death by his wife Irene (Wilder) Taylor, his brothers; Bob Taylor, Fred Taylor and Ray Taylor, and his sisters Marie Atkins, Mary Taylor and Clara Emma Taylor.
He is survived by his sons; James Allen Taylor and wife Tonya, Joel Clark Taylor and wife Laura, grandchildren; Scott Taylor, David Taylor, James Taylor and Kyle Taylor, 3 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters; Ruby Spence, Louise Jarnigan, Bruce Taylor, Shirley Taylor, Roy Taylor and Rev. Paul Taylor, as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 5PM until 8PM with funeral service to follow at 8PM in the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel, Harrogate, TN with the Rev. Travis Singleton officiating. Music will be provided by Joyce Young. Family and friends will meet 10AM Thursday at the funeral home to follow in procession to the Cubbage Cemetery for 11AM graveside services. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
