Eugene Willard Franks

Eugene Willard Franks, age 81 of Cumberland Gap passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019 at the Claiborne Medical Center. He was born in Hazard, KY on May 10, 1938. Eugene was a veteran of the US Army and a proud coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son; Darrell Franks.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years; Joyce Franks, brother; Coleman Frank, sisters; Betty Lou Joseph and Judy Spencer. He is also survived by his special friends; Albert McNew and wife Belvet, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, many other loving family and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 21, 2019 from 11AM until 1PM with funeral services to follow at 1PM in the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with the Rev. Jack Welch officiating. Burial will follow in the Yoakum Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
